Visitors with disabilities will find Venice’s vaporetto (water-bus) system an accessible way to explore major sights and reach Murano Island without stairs or bridges. Most vaporetti have ramps for level boarding from floating docks, and ACTV staff provide priority assistance to wheelchair users, who board first. Lines 1 and 2 along the Grand Canal glide smoothly past St. Mark’s Square, the Rialto Bridge, the Doge’s Palace and other highlights.

For Murano—famous for its glass workshops—take accessible Line 12 from Fondamente Nove (or Lines 3, 4.1/4.2, or 7). The lagoon crossing takes 10–25 minutes. Check the official Accessible Venice map for step-free routes. With a little planning, Venice’s water system turns into an inclusive adventure.
